The Week Ahead - Term 3, Week 6
Monday 18 August - Friday 22 August 2025
From the Head of College
Dear Parents and Caregivers
As we reach the halfway point of Term 3, it is affirming to reflect on the breadth of activity, achievement and community spirit across the College.
Our students have excelled in a variety of arenas - from outstanding results at the QCIS Track and Field Carnival, to wonderful performances and recognition at the Eisteddfod, as well as the successful completion of various camps that have stretched and grown our students. Our varied Outdoor Education Program remains a standout strength of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½. There is still more to come in the weeks ahead, with further opportunities for personal growth, teamwork and service.
Next week we will celebrate Book Week, a national reminder of the importance of reading and literacy in shaping young minds, broadening imagination and equipping our students for lifelong learning.
For our Year 12 students, the end of their school journey is now coming into focus. With Mock Exams on the horizon and the Valedictory Dinner to close the term, they are working hard towards finishing well - we are proud to walk alongside them and their families in these final months.
Our See You in September campaign is now underway for families still considering schooling opportunities for 2026, and we look forward to welcoming new members into our community. Please bring this opportunity to the attention of family, friends and neighbours looking for schooling opportunities in 2026 and beyond.
A highlight this term remains the exciting progress on our new Junior College facilities — we encourage you to drive by and see the development firsthand. We will endeavour to provide you with further details towards the end of the term.
Thank you for your ongoing loyalty, encouragement, as well as the strong and transparent partnership you maintain with the College.
As we navigate the second half of the term, I would like to wish all families a safe and enriching next five weeks.
Yours in Christ
Mr Anton Prinsloo

Teamwork
Last weekend, I was on the Gold Coast with our senior Volleyball teams, who were, for the first time in recent memory, competing in the Queensland Schools Cup. We were placed in very evenly matched groups, which led to some very exciting and close games.
It was wonderful to see the improvement in play across the weekend, and both teams achieved a great result, with the girls getting silver and the boys bronze in their respective groups. Well done!
The participation of our students was only possible through the dedicated support of parents, who drove them and accommodated them on the coast, as well as attending games and firing the teams on.
This is but one example of the cooperation across our community with students, staff and parents working together to provide some wonderful opportunities for our students. So, a big THANK YOU to all involved, including coach Bethany, who gave up her weekend to guide the girls' team.
Over this term so far, we have seen some amazing musical performances, sports events and camps – all able to be provided because of the dedication and effort of staff and students and support of the parent community. Thanks to this teamwork across our whole school community, we can offer some amazing opportunities to learn, to challenge themselves and to grow for our students, in spite of the modest size of our College. A big Thank You to all involved.
St Paul uses the image of a community as a body in 1 Corinthians 12:24-26, where he writes: But God has put the body together, giving greater honour to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Our Lord has placed us together in this amazing °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ community, and as we work together in unity, as we share the highs and lows of our communal life, we can provide and achieve some amazing things. While not everything always goes smoothly and while we live in the reality of an imperfect world, with imperfect people (something which the scriptures are acutely aware of), we can be thankful for the many gifts and blessings we share in the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ community. I, for one, hope and pray that each of us can continue to contribute and bless our community with our individual gifts and talents.
Many blessings as you continue to be part of the team!
God bless!

This week, our College proudly supports Bullying No Way: National Week of Action from 11 to 15 August.
Bullying No Way Week is a commitment being made by thousands of schools and supporters across the country. It provides an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to bullying prevention. It gives us an opportunity to connect with students, staff and school communities to implement workable solutions to prevent bullying.
The theme for this year's campaign is: Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up.
It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, within and beyond the school gate. Students can be bold, kind and speak up to support others being bullied. While trusted adults are there to support children and young people learn how to be kind to each other and report bullying.
This Bullying No Way Week, we’re asking our college community to be bold and say something, be kind and support someone and be proud to speak up against bullying.
During the week, we will be engaging students in meaningful discussions and activities aimed at promoting empathy, understanding and respect for diversity. We encourage families to take this opportunity to have open and honest conversations with your child about the impact of bullying and what they can do if they need support.
Families play an important role in helping children understand bullying and know how to respond to it.
If your child tells you about things at school, or you observe something in public that involves conflict or bullying, take the opportunity to talk about what bullying is. You can learn more about what defines bullying at .
Questions you could ask:
- What do you think bullying is?
- Have you seen it? How did you feel?
- Have you ever felt scared at school because of bullying?
- As well as me, who are the other adults you would talk to when it comes to things like bullying?
- Have you or your friends left other kids out on purpose? Do you think that was bullying? Why or why not?
- Have you ever tried to help someone who is being bullied? What happened? What would you do if it happened again
Remind your child that bullying is never okay and discuss how they can respond safely if they experience or witness it. Encourage them to seek help from a trusted adult and keep seeking support if needed. By promoting open communication, we empower children to stand up against bullying and create a safer environment where everyone can feel that they belong.
Families can access further information related to the college’s bullying prevention process through the Relational Management Framework and Respectful Relationship Policies that can be found via Parent Lounge. If you have concerns that your child is being bullied, please contact a member of the Pastoral Care Team in the first instance. If you believe the behaviour constitutes a crime, or is a serious incident of cyberbullying, please refer to the Bullying No Way website for information on how to report to other authorities and access wellbeing help.

See You in September, please help us spread the word.
The countdown is on for our annual See You in September open morning tours from 1–4 September, and we’re inviting the whole °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ community to help make this our biggest year yet.
These tours are the perfect chance for prospective families to step onto our campuses, see our students in action, and understand the heart of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ for themselves. They’ll hear about our academic and co-curricular programs, walk through our learning spaces, and this year, get an update on our exciting Master Plan and how close we are to completing our first stages.
If you’re already part of the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ family, you can play an important role. Share our See You in September events and posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Mention the tours to friends, neighbours, colleagues and sporting club families. A personal recommendation is one of the most powerful ways to welcome new people into our community. Families can book a small group tour on our website.
August has already been a huge month of activity for our students. The calendar has been packed with camps, and all reports are that they’ve been a whole heap of fun. From outdoor challenges to new friendships formed around the campfire, these experiences continue to be a highlight of the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ experience. Next up, our Year 8 and Year 3 students will be heading off to camp and no doubt returning with plenty of stories to share at home.
One of the real highlights for me as a parent this term has been seeing our students representing the College on the touch football fields. Sitting on the sidelines watching my son’s game and looking out across the grounds, I was struck by the sea of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ team uniforms. It’s moments like these that speak volumes about our community spirit.
This week is Book Week, and our campuses will showcase creativity as students (and staff) celebrate their favourite stories and characters. For our Year 12 students, the focus is now sharpening on final exams. I know as a parent, you are wondering where the time went. Conversations are also turning to the much-anticipated Valedictory Dinner next month, which will be a fitting celebration of their years at °®ÎÛ´«Ã½.
So, here’s our request: mark 1–4 September in your diary, talk about it, share it online, and help us show the wider community why °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ is such a vibrant and welcoming place. Whether it’s through a social media share or a conversation at the sidelines, every word of encouragement helps.
Bookings for See You in September can be made through our website or by contacting our Enrolments team. Let’s work together to make sure every family who could benefit from a °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ education knows about this opportunity.
Warm regards,
Ms Belinda Sanders
Director of Marketing & Community Engagement
Band Extravaganza
On August 4th, our entire CLC Cocurricular Music community came together to celebrate the annual Band Extravaganza – an evening that honoured our eisteddfod achievements, showcased student talent, and farewelled our outstanding Year 12 music leaders: Elaine Thiene – Instrumental Captain, Yuri Henning – Arts Captain, and Ava Nelson – Arts Captain.
The night featured dynamic performances from the Big Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the incredible MEGAband – a powerful finale that brought together every participating student in a united musical performance.
What makes this event so special is its spirit of collaboration, bringing together students from both the Junior and Senior campuses in a shared celebration of music and community.
Each student performer received a medallion, generously donated by Parent Connect, in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the Music Performance program.
We sincerely thank our supporters and look forward to many more exciting performances ahead, including welcoming new members as we prepare for an inspiring 2026!
Jeans for Genes - Fundraising News
Thank you, °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Community, a huge thank you to everyone in our community who donated to the very worthy cause, Jeans for Genes.
Although we didn’t quite reach our fundraising target, together we raised an outstanding $3,504. Every dollar goes towards funding vital genetic research to help find treatments and cures for children living with genetic disorders. This could mean supporting projects that develop life-saving therapies, create better diagnostic tools, and give hope to thousands of families across Australia.
A special acknowledgement to our campuses for their contributions:
Stephen Street Campus raised $176
Warwick Street Campus raised $167
Hume Street Campus raised $133.
Your generosity truly makes a difference, and we thank you for helping to change lives through this important cause.

Junior College
From the Junior College Directors of Campus
It has been another big week across our Junior College, filled with excursions, incursions and some great learning along the way.
This week, our Junior College staff were fortunate to enjoy a special tour through our brand-new classroom spaces. There was a real sense of excitement and anticipation as they explored these modern and flexible learning environments. Already, our teachers are busy collaborating and planning how they will make the most of these inspiring new spaces to support and enhance student learning. We can't wait for our students to experience these vibrant classrooms firsthand.
We also marked Bullying No Way Week, a valuable opportunity to reinforce our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive school culture. Our Year 3–6 students gathered at the Hume Street Campus to watch Backflips Against Bullying—a dynamic and powerful presentation that reminded students of what bullying is, and importantly, how to stand up for themselves and others.
Looking ahead, we are launching into Book Week celebrations next week. This year's theme, “Book an Adventureâ€, invites our students to get lost in the magic of stories and imagination. We look forward to seeing students dress up as their favourite books or characters for our Book Week Parades, which will take place on Monday morning at 8.30am on each campus. We’re also excited to host Pyjama Storytime on Tuesday evening, especially designed for our youngest learners in Kindy to Year 2, as well as warmly welcoming our 2026 Prep students. It promises to be a cosy and memorable evening of storytelling and community connection.
Another special event happening next week is our Choral Showcase on Monday evening, where we will have the pleasure of hearing our talented choirs from both the Junior and Senior Campuses perform. This is always a wonderful celebration of music and community, and we look forward to seeing many of you there to support our performers.
To end the week, our Year 3 students will embark on an exciting milestone—their very first school camp! They’ll be heading to Camp Cooby on Thursday and Friday, where they’ll experience learning in a completely different setting. Camps are such an integral part of a child’s educational journey. They provide opportunities to build independence, develop teamwork and collaboration skills, and strengthen friendships—all while seeing their teachers and peers in a new and fun environment. We know it will be a memorable adventure for all involved.
Thank you for your continued support as we head into the second half of Term 3.
Blessings for the week ahead.

Stephen Street Campus
From the Director of Stephen Street Campus
I write this edition of my Week Ahead article from Luther Heights Youth Camp at Coolum where I have spent four days with our fabulous Year 11 students.
It is one of my favourite times of the year, as we start to see our next group of senior leaders emerge and give back to the college community. Every year, I am astounded by the incredible leadership potential I see within our students. The camp environment is a perfect place for each student to reveal their unique set of strengths, while challenging them to push beyond their comfort zone, whether it be through physical challenges or team problem-solving activities. For those going for formal leadership positions in 2026, I have no doubt they will make the decision-making process extremely difficult, which is par for the course at °®ÎÛ´«Ã½.
Our Year 8s will head off to camp next week at Lake Moogerah. This ‘mini Googa’ experience will help prepare students for their Year 9 adventure and further establish relationships within the cohort.
Our Year 12s are about to enter their Mock Exam period in weeks 6 and 7. These exams provide a baseline for students as they finalise their studies and move into preparations for external exams. We encourage students to apply themselves fully to this opportunity so that they can receive valuable final feedback from their teachers.
Year 11s will then move into their exam period in weeks 8 and 9, finalising their Unit 2 studies.
Later this term, we will once again be holding Grandparents Day, which has become a real highlight within our community. Further details, including how to RSVP, will be provided soon.
In Week 10, we will be holding our first-ever ROAR Day, which is a new addition to our house-based events. This day will see students compete for their House in non-sporting activities from across the Arts and STEM disciplines. Students will be signing up shortly for what I am sure will be a fun-filled day. I look forward to sharing some highlights and announcing the overall winning House in the final edition for this term.
Yours in faith,
Mr Jamie Pukallus

Welcome to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½â€™s first Pastoral Care endorsed inclusion of EMBRACE, an informative and easy way to engage in relevant topics to promote & support student & family Wellbeing, accessible here, as a page in our weekly Parent Newsletters.
Each week, EMBRACE connects parents, carers and families of our students to a current wellbeing topic. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding and compassion for the experiences of students and families as they relate to these topics.
We encourage you to explore the issues that may be important to you or a fellow parent through the credible articles that EMBRACE will source from SchoolTV, Australian law, and the policies and practices of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½.
In Semester 2 2025, we plan to address several important topics, including School Refusal, the new social media laws effective in 2026, cyber safety, our latest restorative practices, how the Student Services Hub supports your child, the top five agencies used by °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ to promote student wellbeing, the Cost of Living Crisis and more.
In this first publication, we will explore the question: What is ?
Because parenting doesn’t come with instructions, SchoolTV is a wellbeing resource that can support you in the challenges relating to modern-day parenting.
This award-winning resource helps build relationships, foster connections, enable understanding and break down barriers to navigate a pathway towards better mental health and wellbeing for young people. It can assist in starting conversations on topics that are sometimes awkward or difficult to tackle.
